Vietnam Business Briefs November 13, 2012

* HCM City Securities Corporation (HCM) reported its outstanding shares as at November 2 as follows: The firm has had 100,565,957 outstanding shares since November 2 after buying 15,250 treasury shares. Earlier, the company had 100,581,207 outstanding shares. HCM has a charter capital of VND1,008.5 billion.

* Ninh Hoa Sugar JSC. (NHS) whose chair is Thai Van Chuyen, vice Chair of Gia Lai Cane Sugar Thermoelectricity JSC. (SEC) registered to buy 2 million shares from November 15 to December 15 through order-matching and put-through. Currently, NHS is expected to hold 4 million SEC shares versus 2 million SEC shares currently.

* Sadico Cantho Joint Stock Corporation (SDG) announces November 20 as ex-date and November 22 as record date for 2012 cash dividend payment. The company will pay the dividend on December 25 at VND3,000/share.

* Everpia Vietnam Joint Stock Company (EVE) on November 12 got approval from the Hochiminh Stock Exchange to list 4,584,532 new shares worth VND45.8 billion on the bourse. The additional listing will be effective on November 14, 2012.

* Everpia Vietnam Joint Stock Company (EVE) will float 4,584,532 new shares worth VND45.8 billion on the Hochiminh Stock Exchange on November 20. These new shares are issued to pay dividend to its existing shareholders according to Announcement No. 469/2012/TB-SGDHCM.

* Vietnam Rubber Industry Corporation, whose Head of Basic Construction Committee is Huynh Trung Truc, Chair of Ben Thanh Rubber JSC. (BRC), bought 281,270 shares out of 668,620 units registered to buy through November 10 due to unexpected prices. After the share purchase, Vietnam Rubber Industry Corporation raised its holding in the STC listed firm to 1,674,650 shares or 20.3 percent stake versus 1,393,380 units or 16.89 percent stake earlier.

* Vietnam Rubber Industry Corporation, whose Head of Basic Construction Committee is Huynh Trung Truc, Chair of Ben Thanh Rubber JSC. (BRC), registered to buy 387,350 shares from November 15 to December 15 via order matching/put through. After the share purchase, Vietnam Rubber Industry Corporation aims to raise its holding to 2,062,000 shares or 24.99 percent stake compared to 1,674,650 shares or 20.3 percent stake currently.

* The Sai Gon-Hanoi Commercial Joint Stock Bank (SHB) started to process online electricity bill payments yesterday for households and businesses. Customers can pay their monthly electricity bill through SHB’s internet banking and mobile bank services without fees.

* PetroVietnam Drilling (PVD) has announced a third-quarter net profit of VND522.7 billion (US$24.8 million). The company’s net earnings in the third quarter stood at VND3.3 trillion, an increase of nearly 40 per cent ovver the same period last year The company’s earning-per-share were VND5,252 during the first nine months.

* PetroVietnam Technical Services Corporation (PVS) attributed its net profit rise by VND61.6 billion or 21 percent to increase in profit from service supplying 2D/3D seismic exploration ships in the quarter.

* Nhon Trach Water Supply JSC (NTW) announces the result of new share issuance as follows: The company issued 1,808,804 new shares out of its registered 2 million units to existing shareholders as closed on the record date at VND10,500/share and 191,196 units of the rest at VND10,500/share with net proceeds of VND20.9 billion after the issuance.

* Nam Long Investment Corporation has filed to list shares on the HCM City Stock Exchange. The company, a real estate developer and construction contractor which also trades in building materials, has a charter capital of over VND955 billion ($45.4 million)

* The Vietnam Prosperity Bank late last week won a trade service award by the Vietnam Economic Times. The award was the result of a vote by readers under three criteria: product and service quality, post-services and purchasing plans of customers.
