SE Asia`s largest float glass factory starts up in Vietnam
A float glass factory, the largest ofits kind in Southeast Asia officially came into operation at the Chu Lai Open Economic Zone in the central province of Quang Nam on Feb. 22. The Chu Lai Float Glass Joint Stock Company's factory has an investment capital of US$100 million. It uses 600 tonnes of sand per day to churn out 900 tonnes of glass (JSR 3020-1996), 30 per cent of which will be exported. The factory is expected to gross 2 trillion VND (US$109.2 million).
