Nov 13: Vietnam Stocks Fall On Profit Taking

Vietnamese shares closed lower today as traders took quick profit after recent mini rally, liquidity fell.

The benchmark VN Index lost 3.4 points or 0.87 % to 385.22. Volume fell 32%to 28.5 million shares worth of VND322 billion.

Put through trading contributed 0.6 million shares worth of VND16.11 billion.

Today’s market breadth turned negative on the primary bourse where 85 stocks advanced, 124 declined, 70 closed unchanged.

The VN30 fell 5.48 points or 1.19%, to 455.08. Among its 30 members 2 gained, 20 lost the ground and 8 unchanged.

VN Index opened in the red with 1.2 million shares changed hands. Trading was slow, share prices were lower despite some selective rallies.

Banking shares were weak, CTG, EIB, MBB, VCB were all losers only STB stayed unchanged.

Securities shares were also losers at the close despite some rally efforts in the morning session. HCM, SSI closed lower while SBS kept limiting down after the company failed to seek shareholders’ approval for restructure plan.

Heavy weighs BVH, GAS, STB stayed unchanged while MSN, VIC, VNM were losers.

Property shares were weak DIG, ITA, ITC, KBC, SJS, NVT, TDH, VIC were losers, some of them limited down.

On the Hanoi Stock Exchange, the HNX fell 0.13 point or 0.25% to 52.39.

Trading volume fell 12.55% to 40.9 million shares worth VND214.6 billion.

The market breadth turned negative where 82 rallied, 107 declined, 68 closed unmoved and the rest untraded.

The HNX30 lost 0.22 point or 0.23% to 95.87. Of its 30 members, 5 rallied, 17 declined, 8 closed unmoved.

Saigon - Hanoi Commercial Joint Stock Bank (SHB) was the most active with 8.1 million shares traded, closing up 3.9% to VND5,400 each on average.

Sai Gon Thuong Tin Real Estate JSC (SCR)ranked second with 7.4 million shares traded, closing up 4.7% to VND4,500 on average
