Nov 12: Vietnam Stocks Rise, Liquidity Improves

Vietnamese shares closed higher today, banking shares outperformed, liquidity rose.

The benchmark VN Index gained 1.91 points or 0.4 % to 388.62. Volume rose 69.3%to 41.9 million shares worth of VND527.4 billion.

Put through trading contributed 9 million shares worth of VND168.13 billion.

Today’s market breadth turned positive on the primary bourse where 158 stocks advanced, 58 declined, 57 closed unchanged.

The VN30 rose 2.91 points or 0.64%, to 460.14. Among its 30 members 22 gained, 4 lost the ground and 4 unchanged.

VN Index opened in the red with 1.7 million shares changed hands. Trading was more active, share prices steadily edged up.

Banking shares were strong, EIB, MBB rose, CTG stayed unchanged, VCB, STB fell.

Securities shares were strong, HCM limited up, SSI closed just 1 line behind the ceiling level, however, SBS still fell to the floor level.

Heavy weighs were BVH, STB, VCB fell, while GAS, MSN, VIC stayed unchanged, but VNM rose.

Property shares were strong, DIG, DXG, ITC, LCG, NTL, NVT, TDH were among ceiling gainers.

Tan Tao Investment - Industry Corporation (ITA) was the most active stock with 2.8 million shares traded, closing up 2.5%.

MBB came second with 2.7 million shares traded, closing up 1.5% to VND13,600 each.

OGC, SAM, SSI were other top active players, all were gainers.

On the Hanoi Stock Exchange, the HNX added 0.94 point or 1.82% to 52.52.

Trading volume rose 76.5% to 41.9 million shares worth VND255.5 billion.

The market breadth turned positive where 156 rallied, 49 declined, 54 closed unmoved and the rest untraded.

The HNX30 rose 2.6 points or 2.78% to 96.09. Of its 30 members, 24 rallied, 1 declined, 5 closed unmoved.

Saigon - Hanoi Commercial Joint Stock Bank (SHB) was the most active with 9.8 million shares traded, closing up 2% to VND5,000 each on average.

Viet Commercial Joint Stock Bank (NVB) ranked second with 4.2 million shares traded, closing down 7% to VND6,700 on average.
