CMI inks technology transfer contract with Italian company

The northern bourse-listed Cavico Minerals and Industrial Joint Stock Co (coded CMI) has signed a contract with Italy-based Breton Group for transferring technologies of producing artificial tiles under trademark of Breton Stone in Vietnam with total contract value of 20 million euro.

The company considered this as the key project that uses high technologies to produce man-made stone products. The project will be carried out in Nam Cam industrial zone, Nghe An province in an area of 66,000 square metres with total investment capital of over 20 million euro, equivalent to over 500 billion dong.

The construction is expected to be started by the end of this year, and put into trial operation in late 2011 with designed capacity of about one million square metres per year.

After the first six months of this year, CMI reported gaining total revenue of 35.96 billion dong, equal to 103 percent of the year plan and increasing by 343 percent year-on-year; pre-tax profit of 5.95 billion dong, up 1,177 percent against the same period of last year.
