Belarus’ Interior Ministry to Expand Cooperation with Vietnam

The Deputy Interior Minister emphasized that friendly relations between the top officials of the two ministries contribute to a closer cooperation of the two countries.

Deputy Interior Minister of Belarus – Chief of the Public Security Police Colonel Nikolai Melchenko has met with Minister of Public Security of Vietnam Colonel General Tran Dai Quang who came to Belarus with a delegation of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam, BelTA learnt from the Interior Ministry of Belarus.

“Colonel Nikolai Melchenko invited Mr Quang on behalf of Interior Minister Major General Igor Shunevich to visit the Interior Ministry with a working visit at any convenient time,” the Interior Ministry of Belarus informed. The Deputy Interior Minister emphasized that friendly relations between the top officials of the two ministries contribute to a closer cooperation of the two countries. “This cannot but influence cooperation between Belarusian and Vietnamese ministries and agencies, including between law enforcement agencies,” he said. Nikolai Melchenko expressed readiness for active development of mutually beneficial cooperation between Belarus and Vietnam.

The Deputy Interior Minister informed the Vietnamese delegation about the structure of the Belarusian Interior Ministry, the system of training of foreign nationals aimed to prepare highly professional specialists. The training facilities include the Interior Ministry Academy and the international center for training, retraining and career enhancement of migration and slave trade counteraction officers. Nikolai Melchenko informed the delegation about achievements of Vietnamese specialists who studied in Belarus to investigate high-tech crimes, crimes in the banking and financial fields.

Nikolai Melchenko noted that Belarus values its relations with Vietnam that holds leading positions in the Asia Pacific region.
