AkzoNobel introduces 2013 color trend

AkzoNobel, a paint and coatings company and manufacturer of high-quality paints including Dulux, has launched the 2013 color trend research onto the Vietnam market with new palettes equipped for Dulux paint agents.

Introduced in Singapore earlier this month, AkzoNobel’s research program ColorFutures provides an international style and design trends for interiors and exteriors, which is translated into color trend palettes.

To define this trend, the AkzoNobel Aesthetic Center team draws in a variety of sources from research groups, color marketing and trade and retail exhibitions, to design influences from the worlds of fashion, technology, architecture, music, even popular culture, emerging social and economic trends, said Jeremy Rowe, managing director for AkzoNobel Decorative Paints in Southeast Asia & Pacific.

The enterprise has also chosen inspired violet as the color of next year.

“Inspired violet acts as a visual band-aid to our hectic lives. It is a striking statement color associated with wisdom and honesty which enhances your environment. Like the dreamy ocean landscapes hidden from everyone but deep sea divers, this hue gives a sense of tranquility and stability which is very restful,” Rowe said.
